Biogas Production in Local Communities in Jordan

 
An EU funded project to promote the production of biogas in Jordan, to produce energy from organic waste, and to propose a design for a hybrid biogas plant aligned to  local communities in Jordan.

Objectives 

  1.  To promote the production of biogas in Jordan.
  2.  To produce energy from organic waste.
  3.   To propose a hybrid biogas design aligned to Jordan.
  4.   To develop a hybrid biogas plant design (industrial scale) for agricultural and food waste in local communities.  

Estimated Results 

  1.  Well defined processes to determine the biogas potential of different substrates.
  2.  Biogas inventory for typical substrates in Jordanian communities (food and agricultural waste).
  3.  Pilot hybrid biogas plant.
  4.  Design for a hybrid biogas plant on industrial scale.  

Main Activities 

  1.  Analysis of existing processes and definition of specific processes to determine the biogas potential of substrates;
  2.  Design and implementation of an online inventory for biogas substrates;
  3.  Design and installation of a standard laboratory and development of a biogas inventory for substrates in Jordan;
  4.  Design, installation and evaluation of a hybrid biogas pilot plant;
  5.  Design of a hybrid biogas plant on industrial scale
